It's too hot out now, close to 100 degrees. Good thing we have A/C in the house. We'd love to head to the coast in the trailer, but have commitments that prevent us from leaving town for awhile.
I am trying to put the time inside to good use by scanning slides for use in my book.

The first REAL trip
Well, Donna and I are on our first real trip with the trailer. As I write, I'm sitting in a campground in Bingen, WA on the banks of the Columbia. Her sister from Cleveland is out visiting her folks in Hood River, so we decided to pack up the dogs and head on up. The trip up was uneventful, and the campground is nice. We have the highway on one side (ugh) but the railroad mainline is on the other (I don't mind that).
Pictures will follow.
Mileage was 250 from our driveway to here.

First day of retirement
First official day of retirement. So far, it just seems like a normal Saturday. I'm thinking it may take a few days - maybe more because of the holiday - before it really sinks in.

It is sinking in
The magnitude of what I have just done is finally sinking in. Most of us work our entire lives (and spend our entire lives working) to get to this moment. Quite momentous. One of the watershed events of my life.
